The European Commission presented a package on the Solvency II review, which includes the following documents:
- communication on the review of the Solvency II Directive (link)
- legislative proposal on amendments to the Solvency II Directive (link)
- legislative proposal on a Recovery and Resolution Directive (link)
- study on Insurance guarantee schemes: quantitative impact of different policy options (link)

Following the presentation of the EC package on the Solvency II review on 23 September, the Council is starting its examination of the proposals.
5 October 2021: ECOFIN Council (see agenda here)
- A policy debate by ministers is foreseen.
14-15 October: Council WP on Financial Services (see agenda here)
- The EC will present its proposal for the Solvency II amending directive on 14 October and its proposal on insurance recovery and resilience on 15 October. The EC presentation(s) will also cover its impact assessment and its Communication.
- Delegations (attaches) will have the opportunity to put follow-up questions to the Commission and to present their initial reactions.
