On 13 December, EIOPA launched a consultation paper on the prudential treatment of sustainability risk (here). The deadline to provide feedback is 22 March 2024.
The consultation explores the possibility of a dedicated prudential treatment of risk linked to environmental and social factors.
The consultation is the second phase of the EIOPA approach to the expected mandate under the SII Directive. The first phase was the discussion paper on the Prudential Treatment of Sustainability Risks, published in December 2022 (here). This discussion paper was the basis for the analysis in this consultation.
EIOPA will schedule a dedicated online event on this consultation on 7 February.
