30th January 2026 marks one year to go until the implementation of the Insurance Resolution and Recovery Directive (IRRD). Following discussions at the Public Affairs & Communications Committee, the Secretariat is planning to use this milestone as a spur for renewed advocacy around Insurance Europe’s call for a stop-the-clock.
- In support of these efforts, and in response to requests from EIOPA for concrete proposals for improvement, the Secretariat has prepared a paper on “10 Practical Ways to Simplify IRRD”. The Secretariat of Insurance Europe has also prepared an annex to this paper collating in one place all the specific recommendations made by Insurance Europe in response to EIOPA’s public consultations on draft Level 2 and 3 instruments to date.
