Response to Joint ESAs Guidelines on integrating ESG risks in supervisory stress tests

On 27 June 2025, the European Supervisory Authorities (EBA, EIOPA, and ESMA) launched a public consultation (here) on their draft Joint Guidelines concerning the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks into supervisory stress testing for banks and insurers. These guidelines aim to harmonise methodologies and practices among supervisors in the banking and insurance sectors, ensuring proportionality and enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of ESG stress testing.

The secretariat of Insurance Europe has prepared an initial draft response to the joint ESA consultation on ESG stress testing.
