Final release of the EIOPA Solvency II 2.8.0 XBRL taxonomy and DPM

On 29 July, EIOPA released its final Solvency II 2.8.0 XBRL taxonomy and Data Point Models. Please note that this taxonomy does not include validations.

Next steps 

The final Solvency II 2.8.0 XBRL taxonomy and DPM should be implemented by (re)insurers and is provided to be used from the 31/12/ 2023 until a new version is announced. This release is published one year in advance and it does not contain validations, the final taxonomy with validations is expected in January 2023.

Following the release of the final Solvency II 2.8.0 XBRL taxonomy and Data Point Models (without validations), some members of Insurance Europe have raised questions/doubts regarding how to complete the new/updated templates. The secretariat of Insurance has requested EIOPA a dedicated call on these templates to clarify questions and exchange views.

The call with EIOPA will take place on 13 October at 11.00 CET and further information to join the meeting will be shared by the secretariat of Insurance Europe.
