EIOPA published its Risk Dashboard based on Solvency II data from Q4 of 2021.
EIOPA’s Risk Dashboard shows broadly constant risk levels for European insurance sector, with an increase in digitalization and cyber risk level. In EIOPA’s assessment:
⦁ Insurers’ exposures to macro risks are currently the main concern for the insurance sector.
⦁ Macro risks remain at a high level together with digitalisation and cyber risks.
⦁ Credit risks have not changed significantly and remain relatively moderate.
⦁ Market risks overall didn’t see an increase compared to the previous assessment.
⦁ Profitability and solvency risks remain at medium level.
⦁ Interlinkages and imbalances risks remain at medium level with insurance groups’ exposure to insurances reporting a drop.
⦁ Climate risks are at medium level, with transition risk and physical risk stable
⦁ Digitalisation and cyber risks increased to high level.
