EIOPA published the European Insurance Overview Report 2025 on Monday, 3 November 2025 (here).
The Annual European Insurance Overview is an extension of EIOPA’s statistical services, designed to offer a user-friendly and accessible snapshot of the European (re)insurance sector. The report is based on Solvency II annual reporting, ensuring broad coverage across all EEA countries and consistency in data collection.
The report provides key statistics on the European (re)insurance market — including premium growth, concentration levels, solvency ratios and investment allocations — with all underlying data available for download in Excel.
EIOPA underlines that the publication is objective and data-driven, containing no analytical or policy commentary. All indicators are derived directly from data reported by insurance undertakings. While the core topics and indicators are expected to remain stable over time, the report may evolve to reflect changes in microprudential and supervisory priorities. It therefore serves as a useful reference tool for both supervisors and industry stakeholders, offering relevant and easily accessible data at the European level.
This edition is based on annual reporting data for the year 2024.
